Malaika Textiles is a socially-driven enterprise located in Mbombela, within the Ehlanzeni district of Mpumalanga province, South Africa. The company, led by CEO Maseko Tebeni Albertina, was officially registered in 2019 and began operations in 2020. Employing 11 women from disadvantaged backgrounds, Malaika Textile is dedicated to creating opportunities and fostering empowerment through its business activities.
The primary product of Malaika Textiles is re-usable sanitary pads, which are sold and distributed across South Africa. Recently, the company expanded its reach by acquiring an international trading license, enabling access to global markets. As part of its social responsibility efforts, the company runs the "Keep a Girl Child at School" program, through which re-usable sanitary pads are distributed free of charge to disadvantaged girls in South Africa, Eswatini, and Mozambique. This program exemplifies the company's commitment to social capital investment and improving the lives of young women.
Our target market is all females from the age of 10 to 55 who are active in menstrual cycle. Girls from the disadvantaged background especially from farm schools, Rural schools, orphanages, Home base care facilities, hospitals and clinics and institutions with people living with disability We also display our products in chemist / Pharmacy’s.
